And this is now reality thanks to ChatGPT a program realeased on the 30th november 2022.

ChatGPT is a significant language model created by Open IA, a company that is also behind the image generator DALL·E 2, they raised 1 billion from Microsoft and it has a valuation of 20 billion $.

Since its release ChatGPT has become internet phenomena in just five days it crossed 1 million users for comparison :

Someone has clearly understood that the ability to ask open-ended questions about any topic and receive a response has a clear market with unlimited demand.

ChatGPT’s training model

Chat GPT is trained on billions of words all over the internet and when generating, it tries to predict what the next word is in the given sentence by drawing on what it’s seen it’s in its massive data set, the end result is the mimicking of human writing.

Learning:

It raises an interesting question concerning our education system, schooling is essentially a test of memory (i was always bad at this), and not intelligence comes to mind as artificial intelligence systems infiltrate our society, I think critically think it will be more valuable.

Jobs?

Yesterday it was professional translators who have been impacted, now it is professional artists who panic as IA-generated art takes away clients lowering the market value of art by increasing supply.

White collar jobs will feel the pressure, this artificial intelligence assistance will be professional assistance, and they will improve enough to reduce the number of workers needed in multiple fields, In every market, a company that can use technology to save money probably will…

This is just the infancy stage we will talk about it in 2 years it will completely different, this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to artificial intelligence.

Layer 1:

In the future there will be only a few companies that build very large base artificial intelligence, that artificial intelligence will understand 98% of what you ask, it has general knowledge and reasoning, can interpret sentence structure perfectly, understands what real objects are, and the relationship between everything and understand event happen in the world.

Layer 2:

On top of this base layer, there will be new startups that use the first layer to provide knowledge to whole industries to do this they tweak the base layer of artificial intelligence and push in the direction to become an expert in a particular field or industry, for example, science, medicine, controlling computer interface, emotion support, law…

Layer 3:

On the final layer, there will be individual artificial intelligence programs built on the top, for example, law, a law firm uses this layer for their company to tailor services.

Conclusion

I already use it in my daily job, but to respond to my own email because as you can see I am not very good at typing… And I don’t really like writing emails.

What could happen?

Imagine you ask Siri to write a CV for your daughter for 3 different companies in Qatar, and for each company write a cover letter, and send a voice memo on WhatsApp with everything she will have to say in the interview. And make sure she has a visa for the country and book a flight for a few days.

But…

We should also question what ChatGPT could write, we should always be critical because OpenIA is a private company, we don’t really know if they censor something from us, or we don’t know if some people pay to omit some information… I don’t say we don’t have to trust them, but when it is about politics and religion I won’t try to ask something from them, for me, I only use it for IT, my email, and writing for my blog.

I’m excited about what will come and afraid at the same time… With smartphone which destroys our society, artificial intelligence will destroy our humanity 😀
