Introduction
In the video game industry, there are some studios you can always trust because they always provide excellent games:
- Valve Corporation (half-life),
- Rockstar Games (GTA),
- Dice (Battlefield),
- Bethesda Game Studios (The Elder Scrolls),
- BioWare (Mass Effect),
- Epic Games (Unreal Tournament, Gears of Wars Series, before they become Chinese 🇨🇳 and way before Fortnite)
- Insomniac Games (Rachet & Clank)
- And finally, we have Naughty Dog.
Naughty Dog it’s for me the best of the best, they create all my favorite games on Playstation from the jak Daxter series to The last of the Us (Which I still did not play but I know that is very good).
And Just recently Sony Interactive Entertainment intends to increase its gaming output on the PC platform, I did not own a PS4 or PS5, and I am very glad that Sony is doing that because now their game will express their full potential.
Right now what is available are God of War (huuumm 🤭), Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, HELLDIVERS, Predator Hunting Grounds, and now we have the famous Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
History
To put it simply the story is about a bunch of people who travel around the world to find a hiding Tresor, and because it cannot be that simple there are always pirates or mercenaries and typically bad people with charismatic personalities and complicated backstories who are looking for the same thing…
Characters :
Nathan “Nate” Drake (real name, Nathan Morgan) a former professional treasure hunter, Nate is described as a “deep water salvage expert and action-pro”. Since childhood, Nate and his older brother, Sam, have believed that they are descended from the famous explorer. He was born on July 27, 1976. An orphan, he claims to be the descendant of Sir Francis Drake.
Victor “Sully” Sullivan is an American treasure hunter, fortune seeker, and businessman, as well as a friend, unique mentor, and father figure to treasure hunter Nathan Drake.
Elena Fisher (X3) is a major character in the Uncharted series. An American journalist and foreign correspondent, she is the most prominent female protagonist, appearing in every episode to come to the aid of treasure hunter Nathan Drake. The outcome of The Illusion of Drake will mark her union with him.
Chloe Frazer is an Indian-Australian treasure hunter and thief for hire; she is a skilled professional whose reputation often makes her highly demanded in the criminal underworld.
Samuel “Sam” Drake (born Samuel Morgan) is a professional thief and treasure hunter, as well as the older brother of Nathan Drake. Originally thought to have died during a prison break, fifteen years before the events of the game and even before the events of the other games in the series.
Uncharted drake’s fortune – 2007
A 400-year-old clue in the coffin of Sir Francis Drake sets the modern-day fortune hunter on an exploration for the fabled treasure of El Dorado, leading to the discovery of a forgotten island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
We are in 2007, and this is the first time we are introduced to the game, the game is not perfect but it’s still great, and colorful, we have puzzles, a lot of exploration, and gunshots with pirates, I do love the soundtrack, I finished it the third time and in extreme mode, I will never do that again, it’s was really hard, and painful…

Uncharted 2 among thieves – 2009
Set two years after the events of “Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves ” follows Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer as they search for the entrance to the lost city of Shambhala and the fabled Cintamani Stone in a race against Serbian war criminal Zoran Lazarević and his army of mercenaries.
Oh lord, I think this time the studio found the right recipe, the game is more beautiful than ever, we can feel that the game is using more power from the PS3, we have more action scenes, and it’s not a game anymore it’s Hollywood movie, we still have a lot of gunshots but this time with mercenary, imagine Missile, helicopter, building collapsing… For me, this is the best because they took some ideas maybe too far, and I love that.
Country: Turkey 🇹🇷, Indonesia 🇮🇩, Nepal 🇳🇵, Tibet.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception – 2011
Set two years after, “Among Thieves“, the single-player story follows Nathan Drake and his mentor Victor Sullivan as they search for the legendary lost city of Iram of the Pillars while battling a mercenary group led by Sullivan’s former employer, Katherine Marlowe.
I don’t have so many things to say about this one, more enigma, and more exploration, and this time story became and feel a little bit personal, we travel more around the world but most of the game is in the middle east which is very nice. And we have this scene, I won’t say too much but they reproduced it in the movie uncharted (2022) and it involves a plain, outstanding moment… It’s funny because I saw the movie on a plane.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
Look I don’t need to tell you, how much I love this game, this game is great, and you should play it, the main goal of this article is to show the difference between a console and a PC.
But I will take an effort will talk about the gameplay and the wonderful narration and blablabla… 😀
I think the best way to introduce this game is that picture (from 2016):
As you can see this is the best video game ever created in recent years. The game was released on ps4 in 2016, and it was back the best thing Sony could provide for the PlayStation 4 even, though I was very jaloused for not having a PS4.
But…
What’s that?
PS4 – May 2016
Resolution | Frame rate |
1920 x 1080p | 30 FPS Locked |
PS4 Pro
Resolution | Frame rate |
2560 x 1440p | 30 FPS Locked |
PS5 – JAN 2022
Resolution | Frame rate | |
Fidelity | 3840 x 2160p | 30 FPS Locked |
Performance | 2560×1440 | 60 FPS Locked |
Performance+ | 1920 x 1080p | 90-120 FPS |
- Fidelity mode renders at a fixed 3840×2160 resolution with a frame-rate target of 30 frames per second. It’s essentially a flawless 30 frames per second.
- Performance mode – 60 frames per second are the target, with only occasional, single-frame drops (essentially unnoticeable in play). The resolution here is 2560×1440 with the original titles running on PlayStation 4
- Performance plus – drops resolution again to 1080p, but the move to a 120fps target is quite remarkable
Those numbers are very important because we are going to compare them with my PC.
My Setup
CPU | Intel I7 6700K @ 4.4GHz |
GPU | Nvidia RTX 2080 @ 1.9GHz |
RAM | 32GB @ 3GHz |
Screen | 3440 x 1440 @ 144Hz |
Gameplay – Narration
Three years after the end of “Drake’s Deception“, “A Thief’s End” follows Nathan Drake, now a retired fortune hunter, as he reunites with his long-lost brother Sam and seeks to save him from a ruthless tyrant by leaving for another adventure it involves finding Captain Henry Avery’s legendary pirate treasure.
The story is well written… That’s. Nan, I’m kidding this time stories are not about treasure but more about Nathan’s relationship with his brother… We have moments of flashbacks about their childhood, which give us more backstories about their mother.
Uncharted’s gameplay age great the climbing mechanics are still lovely, you have little puzzles you can solve as you work toward your goal, there is a lot of action throughout the game and it’s always fun from the beginning to the end.
Graphism
This is the main reason why we are here… But I am not happy because the game is not well optimized, my old CPU can not keep up with my GPU, and with a resolution of 3440 x 1440, I was expected to have a decent FPS like a constant FPS @ 50 at least.
At launch, I struggled to run the game, The first game’s building shader in the game which solicited more of the CPU and the tweaking options for graphism were limited.
After a few updates and patches, I finally found these optimized settings:
- High texture.
- Enhanced model quality.
- Ultra anisotropic filtering.
- High shadow.
- High reflection.
- High ambient occlusion.
The Best Chase In Gaming History
It’s E3 2015 Sony and Naughty Dog showed us that as a demo, and we were all speechless, I wanted to play it so much and today it’s my turn and I have better hardware, very good-looking graphics, bigger resolution, and especially almost higher frame rate…
And the icing on the cake of this epic scene is in Madagascar, we may have a new travel destination.
Enjoy my poorly show of the most epic moment in video game history @ 3440 x 1440 15min 5,5GB
As you can see my computer struggles because my CPU is too old (I will have to change 🙁), I have an average of 48 FPS which is ok and the minimum was 35, and the max of 70 is not bad, I should stay grateful my resolution is 30% more from WQHD, which is huge but I lose frame and for a game like it’s not great to play under 60FPS. Otherwise, the performance on the PC looked great.
Country: Panama (again) 🇵🇦, United States 🇺🇸, Italy 🇮🇹, Scotland 🏴, Madagascar 🇲🇬
Now I have to play the DLC “The Lost Legacy” to see the feminine adventure of Chloe and Nadine another story that tells us how those women become so tough, the narrative essentially takes place in India 🇮🇳
End
To conclude, I’m really surprised how Elena was written in Uncharted 4, she plays a crucial role in this episode she is not just the woman we have to save, she is the heart, the brain, the last hero we did not expect from this final chapter, now I understand why we see her only near the game.
It’s still the best action-adventure game out there it’s action-adventure condensed and compacted into its purest form. A gorgeous first-class travel package where it takes you physically and emotionally to incredible places.
I love Uncharted, it is a phenomenal game
