Avatar the way of water

After years we finally have a look at the next Avatar movie, after more than 10 years… 10 years

Originally scheduled for 2014 and 2015, Avatar 2 and Avatar 3’s release dates were changed to December 2020 and 2021 before being delayed again to December 2022 and December 2024, respectively. Even Disney has had the time to buy the entire studio…

“When I did the first one, I was 30,” Worthington, now 45,“And when the second one comes out, I’m gonna be pushing 50. In the first one I was in a wheelchair, you know. And by the time we get to the fourth and fifth, I might actually be in a wheelchair by the time we get to do it.”

But the main reason behind the 13-year wait for the Avatar sequels is their long pre-production state, a result of Cameron’s commitment to the special effects that set Avatar apart from other films of its time, to begin with.

  • James Cameron needed to get underwater CGI right, underwater effects have always been tricky to replicate in any form – even shooting in-camera has its limitations
  • James Cameron wants to film the Avatar sequels at a higher frame rate
  • He wants to shoot the film in a non-glasses form of 3D
What a beauty

Directed by James Cameron-‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, is an upcoming American epic science-fiction film, produced by 20th Century Studios Disney.
